Some people think that a Martingale collar strangles a dog. Never if the size is right! Often Martingales are sold as one or 2 sizes to fit all kinds of dogs. That’s where the strangling start. Handling your dog should never include strangling.
There are 2 criteria for a good fit :
- The minimum size of the collar is a bit larger then the circumference at the smallest part of the neck (Usually just behind the head). This size is always smaller then the maximum size.
- The maximum size of the collar is the circumference at the largest part of the head (usually over the ears).
